Christina Anderson founded Runaway Train Productions in 2019 after 15 years of working for media companies like Conde Nast, Hearst, Fairchild, AOL, The Huffington Post, and NBC Universal. Building on her experience creating award-winning content for mass audiences, Anderson turned her focus toward healthcare with the goal of creating the same character-driven content that resonates deeply with national audiences.

Anderson founded the Original Video department at TODAY.com, the digital arm of the TODAY show, in 2017 and grew it to its current size of six producers and editors and a stable of freelance videographers. In the first year, the team surpassed one billion video views on Facebook. In the second year, Anderson executive produced an Emmy-nominated original series called, “Survivors: What happens when the headlines fade.” And in the third year, Anderson and her team took home a Gracie Award for “‘We want a voice’: Kristen Parisi opens up about living with a disability since age 6.”

Anderson was previously Editorial Director at HuffPost Family and Relationships, where she led a team of driven writers and editors. Before that, she worked at AOL on the Stylelist section as a digital fashion editor. Anderson spent the previous decade working as an editor in traditional print media at magazines like ELLE, Harper’s BAZAAR, and SELF.

Anderson lives with her family in New York City.
